Bug

I remember seeing trailers for "Bug" - starring Ashley Judd, Michael Shannon and Harry Connick Jr - and thinking that it was just another David Cronenberg ripoff body-horror infestation flick. Man was I off. This film was one of the coolest horror/thrillers I'd seen in a long time. I can't really talk about it because I don't want to give anything away, but here's a synopsis.

The loser and lonely waitress Agnes lives in a cheap motel in Okalahoma grieving the disappearance of her beloved son Lloyd ten years ago. Her abusive ex-husband Jerry Goss has just left prison on probation and is insistently calling her. When her colleague and only friend RC brings her drifter acquaintance Peter Evans to visit her, they have an affair and Peter stays with Agnes in her room. Peter finds bugs in their bed. He then discloses to Agnes that he was a soldier in the Gulf War submitted to experiments by the army.

So yeah, that probably makes no sense. The movie does, but its only good if you go in with no spoilers. It's really quite deep and will lead to much conversation afterward.
